Automotive Body Technician

Job Description

  • Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards.
  • Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
  • Prepares vehicles for body repair work.
  • Notifies management of any additional repairs needed.
  • Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.
  • Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including a respirator, as the equipment manufacturer recommends.
  • Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
  • Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Safely operates all tools and equipment.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
  • Additional training and certifications are a plus!

Automotive Paint Technician

Job Description

  • Operates and uses all body shop equipment appropriately and safely.
  • Removes rust from metal and grease, and dirt from the work surface.
  • Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated.
  • Mixes paint according to specifications.
  • Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce the desired color.
  • Paints the surface using a sprayer as appropriate.
  • Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags, and unpainted areas.
  • Maintains tools and keeps equipment clean and in a proper state of repair.
  • Keeps work area clean.
  • Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including a respirator, as the equipment manufacturer recommends.
  • Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.

Automotive Detailer / Painter's Helper

Job Description

  • Washes exterior vehicle, cleans interior and exterior windows, and wipes down doorjambs.
  • Applies wax to auto body and wipes or buffs surface.
  • Vacuums the interior of vehicles to remove loose dirt and debris.
  • Cleans upholstery, rugs, and other surfaces using appropriate cleaning agents, applicators, and cleaning devices.
  • Applies revitalizers and preservation agents to interior vinyl or leather surfaces and treats fabrics with spot- and stain-resistant chemicals.
  • Applies special-purpose cleaners to remove foreign materials which standard cleaning procedures do not remove, utilizing experience and judgment and following product manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Inspects vehicles for noticeable defects, such as dents, scratches, torn upholstery, and poor mechanical operation.
  • Restores the engine area's appearance, rugs, upholstery, and painted surfaces. Uses touch-up paint, dyes, and other appropriate materials.
  • Uses proper eye, hand, and body protection when using products that require protection.
  • Fills vehicle with fuel.
  • Applies dressing on tires and tire wells.
  • Replaces missing or defective small parts.
  • Always maintains showroom and loaner vehicles in clean and presentable condition.
  • Keeps work area neat and clean.
  • Safely operates all tools and equipment.
  • Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
  • Masks and protects parts that are not to be painted or coated.
  • Inspects painted units for quality of workmanship, noting any runs, sags, and unpainted areas.
  • Buff and detail fresh paint.
  • Other tasks as assigned.
